On March 4th I went to an FC Utrecht game! The stadium is a 2 minute bike ride from where I am living. Sometimes when there is a game on I can hear the cheering coming from the stadium so this time it was neat that I got to be a apart of all that noise! Arrived at the stadium, got confused with how many entrances there where, found our entrance, went and stood in the line up to go in, then got groped by a security guard... I was not expecting to get a full on airport security check going into a football game but thankfully it was a nice Dutch lady and I was not special, everyone was getting groped. Apparently at the last game there was a huge riot in the stadium and outside the stadium so to answer your question, yes there are dutch hooligans also. The most concerning thing was the "no bombs allowed sign" near the security entrance. The game began and there was a lot of cheering. FC Utrecht was playing N.E.C. Nijmegen and apparently the two teams are very friendly. To be honest the game was a little dull, they were almost too friendly because in the end it was a draw nil to nil. I just enjoyed watching the people and hearing all of the funny dutch cheers!
