14) Finding my mom

On Monday March 12th I feared that I had lost my mother in the city of Amsterdam.
I knew she was going to be VERY jet-lagged and everything so gave her my number and told her to call me when she arrived at the hotel and I would meet her there. Tick tock tick tock time was moving and my mother had still not called so I called the hotel. Amsterdam is very diverse and everyone speaks either french, english, german or dutch, or so I thought. Turns out the ONE person I talk to on the phone at the hotel does not speak any of these languages? not sure how they got hired but basically had a tough time trying to explain to the person on the phone that I wanted to see if "Nancy Kelvin" had checked in or not, this hotel person told me that none with that name was going to check in.  I waited and waited and waited for my moms call and by now it was 8pm. I decided I was just going to go to the hotel because she had to show up at some point I was just worried that the hotel would not let me wait inside and I would be out in the cold since nothing in Amsterdam expect coffeeshops are open past 10pm on mondays. I didn't really want to wait in a coffeeshop(note. coffeeshops are where they sell and smoke weed).  FINALLY just before I was going to go into Amsterdam I got her call. Pheww I wasn't going to be stranded on the streets waiting for her so I got the next train and was in Amsterdam 30 minutes later. It was perfect timing because I turned the corner of the street the hotel was on and my mom was just standing there.
The next day was shopping day- had missed shopping with my mom :) Then Wednesday I had to go back to Utrecht for class and my mom said she did all the tourist things and then the thursday we flew to Zürich!

Aren't I a good daughter for bringing my mom treats?

happy to find me!
-Xoxo
